7 Storage Solutions For Your Kitchen
Here are 7 of our favourite storage solutions to help you make the most of your kitchen, no matter the size.
1. Invest In The Build
If you’re moving into a brand new kitchen that you already know might be a bit of a tight squeeze, make a point to invest in build-ins. While it can be great fun to keep your options open to rework different parts of your kitchen, later on, having all your appliances taking up counter space may work against you.
While this style takes a lot more planning and measuring – building in your oven, microwave, or even coffee-maker, saves a lot of space and makes your kitchen look extra sleek.

you would be surprised at how rethinking those spare corners and nooks, could influence your entire kitchen storage solution
2. Pull-out Pantry
The pull-out pantry is a great way to save space. These are often slim, tall, and unobtrusive pull-out shelves that can store a lot more than regular drawers or shelves. There are several types of these in the market – with some that even rotate or pull out on multiple sides for optimal flexibility.
3. The Bar Cart hat-trick
If your kitchen really is too small for an island, the perfect solution here is the kitchen bar cart. This little hero-on-wheels provides you with a little extra storage, and it can even be used to serve drinks and hors d’oeuvres for when you have guests over.
4. Hang em’ up
Instead of placing your cutting boards, knives, or pots and pans in drawers or countertops, hang them up! Install hooks on your kitchen walls and hang up these regularly-used essentials.
Kitchen walls are always under-utilised, and using this space automatically frees up your counters and makes your kitchen look a lot neater.
5. Make the most of your Island
Islands are still a crowd-favourite for many, but they are most definitely under-utilised if you’re using them just as a breakfast bar or as extra counter space. A built-in sink could be great if more than one person tends to work in the kitchen at a time. Another option is to build in large drawers and hidden shelves that will help to hide some of your larger kitchen appliances.
6. Floating Shelves
Floating shelves are an oldie but a goodie. If your kitchen style is fairly minimalist and you’re perfectly fine having your dinnerware and appliances displayed, then these save a ton of space while also giving your kitchen a touch of décor flare.
7. Bin it
For the ones who are somehow both messy and organized all at once, storage bins are the holy grail. These large woven or cloth baskets can be labelled and stored neatly on lower shelves. Throw in your tea towels, smaller cutlery, dishrags, or even coffee capsules for easy access. The point is, it’ll make your kitchen look organized, even if you’re not.
