This month, AluSplash is featuring the creative ideas of designer Krishan Patel @designsbykrishan, who specializes in kitchen and bathroom transformations. We had a great time chatting with him about his design style, and what motivates his design choices.
Read on to find out more about Krishan’s eclectic style, and why he chooses to use AluSplash in many of his designs.
Let’s begin by getting to know you a little better. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am 29 years old, based in Southampton, UK and live with my wife. I started designing interiors from the age of 16 and have been designing kitchens and bathrooms for about 8 years now. The best part of my job is meeting with new customers every day to help them complete the projects that turn a regular house, into a dream home.
Tell us a little about the kinds of projects you’ve worked on.
I have worked on quite a variety, from new builds where you have a blank canvas to work with, which can be a lot of fun, to existing builds, which can be a bit challenging in comparison, but really help to stretch the limits of my imagination and creativity. As for now, I mostly work on designing kitchens and bathrooms.

I choose Alusplash for a lot of my designs simply because it is a truly great product. It’s incredibly versatile and comes in a lot of fun colour options for my customers to choose from.
What is your interior style?
I would say… mainly eclectic? I really prefer to mix and match different styles, rather than be either completely traditional or completely modern. However, I definitely enjoy the odd ultra-modern look and have created quite a few recently.
What makes you choose Alusplash for your designs?
I choose Alusplash for a lot of my designs simply because it is a truly great product. It’s incredibly versatile and comes in a lot of fun colour options for my customers to choose from. Now that they have introduced matte colours in to the range, I think it is going to be a game changer for how I will be able to design homes for customers.
What brand or trends inspire your designs?
I don’t really think about specific brands, and instead focus on effective materials that work with the space to bring function and aesthetics together. I tend to look at ultra-modern designs, and pay attention to the durability of tiles, colour combinations with real wood, and elements like bi-fold doors and feature walls.
Could you name 3 instagram accounts that inspire you?
@alusplash, @archidesignnn, @realestate_listings_daily are definitely my go-to for a dose of inspiration.
Why did you choose to become a designer?
I wanted to use my knowledge, skills and natural talent to help others. When I was studying construction and built environment at college, I picked up skills in Autocad, a design software that helps bring my ideas to life!
What is your favourite space in your own home?
My favourite space would have to be my open plan kitchen/dining/living room. It is a great space that allows for a real flow of movement. It’s brilliant for entertaining and gives you the feeling that it is much bigger than it actually is.
What item could you not live without in your home?
To help me unwind at the end of the day, it would have to be my current Netflix show on repeat, which is ‘How to get away with murder’.
What are the current projects you’re working on?
I’m working on several kitchens and bathrooms, all based in Southampton!
Thanks so much for talking to us Krishan, and we look forward to seeing more of the amazing ways you plan to use Alusplash in your designs!
