Tell us a little bit about yourself.

We are Arabella and Levi. Levi is a self-employed bricklayer, whereas I have my own hair salon, ‘Hair by Arabella’. We received the keys for our newly-built, 3-bedrooom bungalow in late March this year, and spent about five weeks renovating it!

Why did you choose to renovate?

We really wanted to make the house our own by putting our stamp on it. So we decided to renovate the original Taylor Wimpey kitchen by replacing the worktops with white quartz, and matched it with a white sink. We also changed the splashback to a more seamless style with Alusplash, and replaced the handles and taps with brushed gold furnishings. The last touch was installing our beautiful herringbone amtico flooring to pull the entire kitchen together!

What inspired you to start sharing your kitchen transformation journey on social media?

With it being a brand new build, I wanted to log every stage of our journey. Instagram seemed like the perfect platform to use as a journal throughout that building process, and it grew from there!

What is your interior design style?

I think my interior style centres around neutral colours, and keeping the designs classy and minimalistic overall. I used plenty of white, and layered that with classic and understated furnishings.

What are 3 Instagram accounts that inspire you?

We really like @lovetearsandteepees, @ninamovesin, and @theroseandthewood.

A seamless design was really important to us, and Alusplash seemed like a natural choice to make that happen.

What is your favourite space in your home?

I would say our whole home is our favourite space right now. We’ve managed to create an environment where the minute we walk through the front door, there is an instant feeling of calm. That sense of peace and tranquillity is priceless, and makes coming home something we always look forward to.

What brands or trends inspired you when designing your home?

I really love the white company, as well as high street brands like H&M home and home sense. They’ve got practical, minimal styles that are really attractive, and easily adaptable.

What made you choose AluSplash?

A seamless design was really important to us, and Alusplash seemed like a natural choice to make that happen. My dad is a kitchen fitter and has worked with Alusplash for years, so he was able to fit it for us quite easily.

What item could you not live without in your home?

We definitely couldn’t live without our boiling kettle tap (if you don’t have one, you need one!) it was the first purchase we made for our house. It is so quick now to make tea or coffee, and even quicker to fill up a pan and boil your vegetables!

What is next on your home interior wish list?

The next purchase will undoubtedly be another built-in sliding wardrobe! We could do with much more storage within our home, and it will be nice to design something bespoke that has compartments for household items (like a clothes airer or iron board) that can be kept out of sight.

We love the way you use flowers to brighten up the space. Do you have any tips on how to achieve that bright and airy feel in the kitchen?

Flowers definitely make a house feel like a home. They somehow give both a bright, and calming feeling to a room, and creates a lovely focal point for anyone who walks in.

Do you have a favourite room in your home, and if so, why?

I feel every room in our home is our favourite, but for different reasons! We put so much time and thought into every tiny detail of our home, and it all turned out better than we ever imagined.
