“I am someone that likes to understand how things work, so when I was planning my new kitchen I did a lot of research. Originally I’d wanted oxidised mirrors, but the cost was far beyond reasonable for my budget. The reason for the mirrors was to reflect as much light as possible in to what can be a dark space, as it only gets direct sunlight for a few hours or less a day.

I also wanted something that was environmentally friendly. This is when I found AluSplash. I watched all their video tutorials and read the tech specs and knew this matched all my requirements for a kitchen backsplash. The aluminium backed panels mean they can sit flush to the countertop behind hobs, eradicating the need for an upstand or additional fire retardant splashback, which gives a much sleeker finish. Then the gloss colour options give just the right amount of reflection. I chose Warm Metallic Grey. I absolutely love it and the tone matches beautifully with the other colours in my kitchen. I’m so happy that the oxidised mirror backsplash wasn’t an option, as this is a much better choice. It’s light weight, easy to clean and fit (I had a kitchen fitter do this for me). The quality isn’t compromised either.
