How To Make A Small Kitchen Look Exquisite
It can be quite challenging to arrange things inside a small kitchen; you may get frustrated due to the limited space available. Using the right design tips, you can turn the problem of limited space into an advantage and create a fully functional kitchen with the space you have.
Here are 4 tips to make a small kitchen look exquisite.
1. Avoid using too many colours
When designing for a small kitchen space, it is important to choose a limited colour palette. If you don’t like the idea of an all-white kitchen you can apply any colour of your choice, but make sure it is in a creative manner.
For instance, if you’re going to use bright colours like orange and red, you can apply it in such a way that it matches with the wall (brick) or wooden furniture. Or, apply a different colour as an accent on one wall, or allow your accent colours to be featured through accessories.
2. Allow the light to come in
A low-lit room will always have a fussy look, which isn’t great.
Windows and skylights can minimize the need for artificial lighting, which can potentially heat a small kitchen space very quickly. Therefore, making use of the natural light will improve air quality and make the space look bigger.
Reduce any window decorations to a minimum and if you would like to add a little privacy, you can make use of plain or sheer roller blinds.
For evening lighting, install task lighting in key work areas to prevent the need for lighting in an entire space all the time.
3. Make good use of storage
Remember, your small kitchen has limited space, so you have to make the most of every inch. For storage, we recommend using a floor-to-ceiling fitted unit. This type of storage solution provides enough space to showcase treasures. Glass food storage containers are more much durable than plastic ones! They last longer and won’t need to be replaced nearly as often.
4. Use a reflective surface on your walls
You can make your room appear bigger by using a reflective surface on your walls. For example, a glossy surface, like glass or an actual mirrored panel. Choosing a reflective surface or a surface with a reflection is a visual trick that works every time. This design technique is perfect for small kitchens and it gives your room an elegant look while subtly tricking the eyes.

We hope these great tips help you create a kitchen of your dreams!
