Start Fresh: 5 Splashback Ideas to Update Your Kitchen for 2026
And one of the quickest, most transformative fixes? Updating the splashback. A simple change of colour, texture or finish can shift the entire mood of the room without tearing the whole kitchen apart.
Here are five inspiring splashback ideas to help you step into 2026 with a kitchen that feels new, energised and unmistakably yours.
Gloss Finish for Bright, Open Spaces
There’s something magical about a glossy splashback, it doesn’t just sit quietly on the wall it comes alive with every bit of light that reflects off it. Morning sunshine, warm pendant lighting, even the glow from your stovetop… all of it reflects softly across the surface, giving the kitchen a brighter, more uplifting feel. For smaller spaces, this light-play can make the entire room feel noticeably more open, almost like you’ve added an extra window without renovating a thing.
That’s exactly the charm of our Elegance Collection. It takes the glossy look and elevates it with a high gloss, mirror-like finish and a hint of metallic shimmer that catches the eye in just the right way. It’s stylish without shouting, glamorous without being dramatic. Whether you pair it with minimalist cabinets or bold colour tones, the Elegance range slips effortlessly into the design adding that touch of refinement that makes the kitchen feel curated and complete.
Matt Textures for a Calm, Natural Feel
If gloss brings energy, matt finishes bring calm. There’s something grounding and quietly luxurious about a soft, velvety surface in the kitchen. It pairs effortlessly with timber cabinets, stone counters and organic colour palettes perfect for anyone leaning into the Scandinavian, Japandi or minimalist trend.
The Elements Collection taps directly into this look. Think earthy tones, natural textures and a finish that feels comforting but modern. It’s ideal for homeowners who want their kitchen to feel warm and uncluttered, like a peaceful retreat at the end of a busy day.
Deep, Moody Colours for Bold Style
2026 is shaping up to be a year where kitchens take on bold personality. Rich metallic tones such as Bronze, Rose Gold, Copper are stepping back into the spotlight, bringing warmth, depth and a touch of quiet luxury to modern interiors. These colours don’t just complement a space; they create a distinctive mood the moment you walk in.
The Essenza Collection captures this trend with ease. Its matt textured finishes and
expressive hues turn the splashback into a striking design feature rather than a background element. When paired with brushed brass fixtures, deep black cabinetry or warm wood grains, the effect is effortlessly curated; stylish, modern and confidently bold.
Seamless, Grout-Free Panels for Effortless Hygienic Living
Let’s be honest, scrubbing grout is no one’s idea of fun. That’s why more homeowners today are switching to splashback materials that eliminate grout lines altogether. A seamless panel
doesn’t just look cleaner… it actually stays cleaner, with nowhere for dirt or grease to settle.
This is where AluSplash truly elevates the experience. Beyond the smooth, grout-free surface that wipes down in seconds, every panel is coated with antibacterial resins built directly into the paint. That means the surface actively resists bacterial growth, helping the kitchen stay fresher and more hygienic throughout the day.
And because AluSplash’s coating is formulated without heavy metals, it’s safe for everyday kitchen use whether you’re cooking, prepping, serving, or living around it. No cracks, no staining, no scrubbing… just a beautifully modern panel that keeps maintenance simple and supports a healthier kitchen environment.
It’s proof that good design isn’t just about looks, it’s about making daily life easier, cleaner and more enjoyable.
Full-Height Splashbacks for a Modern Statement
A full-height splashback is one of the most stylish trends going into 2026. Running the panel from the countertop all the way to the upper cabinets creates a sleek, uninterrupted surface that instantly modernises the kitchen.
Both gloss and matt AluSplash options work brilliantly for this look. Gloss adds dramatic
shine; whilst matt delivers understated elegance. Either way, full-height panels create a sense of luxury while still being completely functional.
You don’t need a full renovation to give your kitchen a new personality. A fresh splashback can shift the whole mood; brighter, calmer, sleeker or bolder, depending on the look you choose.
